Cheeseburger Salad

For beef:
2 small packs of ground beef (about 2 lbs.)
1/3 cup yellow onion, diced
1 tbs vegetable oil
2 tbs onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground paprika
¼ tsp ground mustard
5 tbs A1 Original Sauce
Salt and pepper to taste

For dressing:
1 ½ cup Hellman’s Original Mayonnaise
½ cup ketchup
2 tbs yellow mustard
1/3 cup sweet relish
1 tbs & 1 tsp onion powder
½ tbs garlic powder
½ tbs chili powder
½ tbs ground paprika
1 ½ tbs white sugar

Iceberg lettuce, chopped
Cherry tomatoes, sliced
Bread & Butter pickles, chopped
Red onion, sliced
Mild cheddar, cubed
Sharp cheddar, shredded


  1. In a pot, add yellow onion, vegetable oil, and ground beef. Place over medium high heat and cook until beef is brown. (13-15 minutes) Drain excess grease off of beef if necessary.
  2. Add onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, paprika, ground mustard, and A1 sauce (see “For beef” measurements). Season with salt and pepper to taste and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl add mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and sweet relish. Mix well. Add in onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, paprika, and sugar. (see “For dressing” measurements) Mix well. Place dressing in a storage container and refrigerate until ready to use.
  4. In a salad bowl add lettuce, onion, and tomato.
  5. Add pickles, beef, sharp cheddar, and mild cheddar.
  6. Top with dressing and serve!



  1. The A1 sauce is magical, it gives the beef a smoky flavor almost like it was grilled!
  2. Feel free to use your favorite cheese whatever kind you like on your cheeseburgers.
  3. Veggies such as lettuce and tomatoes should ALWAYS be rinsed to remove dirt. Always rinse your vegetables!
